Privacy Notice

At a glance
- We collect only what we need to take and fulfill your booking.
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
- We don't use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site cookies.
- You can request access, correction, or deletion at any time — email hello@pinehaventahoe.com.
What we collect
When you book or contact us, we collect:
- Identifiers: name, email, phone number, IP address from your browser.
- Booking details: check-in / check-out dates, number of adults / children / infants, special requests in your message to us.
- Payment details (via Stripe): we do not store your card number on our servers. Stripe stores card data; we receive only a token and the last four digits.
- Good Neighbor Contract signature: the name you type as electronic signature, the timestamp, and the IP address at the moment you accept.
- Cookies/local storage: a small token to keep you logged in to the admin area (admin users only). No tracking cookies on the public site.
How we use it
- To process your reservation and take payment.
- To communicate with you about your stay (arrival instructions, gate code, weather warnings).
- To prove compliance with the City of South Lake Tahoe VHR ordinance (Permit #333819) — e.g., showing that every booked guest acknowledged the Good Neighbor Contract.
- To remit Transient Occupancy Tax and Tourism Improvement District fees to the City of South Lake Tahoe (only aggregate amounts are remitted — your personal details are not shared with the City).
- To respond to legal requests or to protect against fraud, abuse, or property damage.
Who has access
The property owner, Pradeep Kumar, and our service providers:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Supabase (Amazon Web Services, US-West region) — database hosting.
- Vercel — application hosting.
- No one else. We do not share or sell your data to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing companies.
Retention
We keep booking records for 7 years (in case of city audit, Stripe chargeback dispute, or tax record requirements), then delete them. Good Neighbor Contract signatures are retained for 3 years after check-out. You can request earlier deletion of non-required records — see “Your rights” below.
Your rights under California law
If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have about you.
- Access a copy of that information.
- Correct any inaccuracies.
- Delete personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we don't do either, so nothing to opt out of).
- Limit our use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect any).
- Non-discrimination — exercising your rights will not affect the price or service you receive.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@pinehaventahoe.com. We will verify your identity before responding (typically by replying from the email address on your booking) and respond within 45 days, as required by California law.
Cameras at the property
For security purposes the Property has three exterior cameras only: doorbell, garage floodlight, and rear yard. There are no cameras inside the home, in the bedrooms, or in any bathroom. Camera recordings are retained on a local device for 30 days and automatically overwritten.
Children's privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If a parent or guardian believes we have inadvertently collected a minor's information, please email hello@pinehaventahoe.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted in a banner on the home page for at least 30 days.
